Temple Ner Tamid
HOUSE

It has been a busy summer at Temple Ner Tamid both inside and out. The exterior renovation of the building is well under way. The building has been power washed, and wood has been either replaced (where needed) and primed in preparation of painting, to give the Temple a "fresh new look". The work on the front entrance way has also begun and the new look of granite will be quite "dramatic" to say the least. The inside of the building has also been the scene of a "beehive of activity". On July 19th a dedicated group of volunteers helped to empty out the Youth Lounge, three Nursery classrooms, and two closets filling a 40 yard dumpster with over 20 years accumulation of clutter. This "cleaning party" was Step One in prepping the way for the new Adult Education/Conference Room, the room which will be dedicated solely for the use of the Temple's USY'ers as a Youth Lounge, and two additional Hebrew School classrooms. I wish to thank the following people for rolling up their sleeves and giving us some "sweat equity". Judy Kemp, Steve Gottsegen, Linda and Zachary Gross, Sumner Feinstein, Sidney Zimmerman, Howard, Irene, and Beth Rosenberg, Jeff Schultz, Alan Talewsky, Harriet Moldau, Ben Nathan and Jason and Ross Titelbaum.

Step Two of the "Great Temple Cleanout" was completed on August 9th when we emptied out and organized other areas of the Temple. The exterior renovations of the building will also become even more pronounced. Once more my hat is off to all who have helped to bring about this transformation and as more changes occur we will pass the information on.

The "old Youth Lounge" has had wall paper and ceiling tiles removed.  This room will be freshly painted, have new carpeting put down as well as be equipped with A/V equipment to better facilitate the room's use. The new USY Lounge wil be similarly updated as will the two new Hebrew School classrooms. All in all when the interior renovation is completed I do believe that our members will be both proud and satisfied of what has been accomplished.
